The privacy and the security of your personal information is extremely important to us. This statement sets out what we do with your information and how we keep it secure. It also explains where and how we collect your personal information, as well as your rights over any personal information we hold about you.

How the Dyslexia Outreach Service website uses your data.

Our website has a number of features and this is how each of them processes your data:

Contact Forms.

We offer a number of forms to allow contact us in an easy manner. The submitted information is passed directly by email to The Dyslexia Outreach Service named contact (see the Contact menu above). The forms do not record any personal information, track users by stealth, send data to third parties (except in the process of passing the email message to us), or use cookies to track data submitted.

Human verification Google reCAPTCHA.

We use the Google reCAPTCHA service on our website to ensure that a real person is submitting information. The reCAPTCH privacy policy from Google can be found here.

Website activity tracking.

We do make use of tracking information in the form of a Facebook pixel. This does not record specific information that can be tied to one particular person, but only demographic and general location information so that we can monitor how effective our service is.

School Membership and Quality mark.

We manage our School membership and Quality mark through the WordPress Simple Membership plugin.  The data that you submit is stored on our servers to allow you access to the paid area of the website.

No financial data is held within this system, only the data that is relevant to the expiry of membership. We do not have access to passwords that you have selected at the time of registration, these are encrypted and cannot be viewed.

The information we collect from you.

When you register with the Dyslexia Outreach Service (DOS) you will provide us with a named representative and relevant contact information.

We collect this information in order to invoice your organisation appropriately, set up your members login area on our website, send renewal notifications and to provide you with relevant materials as part of your membership – updates on DOS, courses, resources and events you may be interested in attending.

You can amend your information at any time by contacting DOS using any of the contact details below.

How do we protect your information?

We seek to comply with data protection regulations and take all reasonable care to ensure your data is secure and protected from any unauthorised access.

DOS does not share or sell any of our members’ information to third parties.

How long do we hold your information?

We hold each members’ data for the active subscription year to which they have subscribed and into the following subscription year until we receive confirmation of renewal or cancellation.

When you register for DOS membership you will receive regular updates relating to the DOS service and membership benefits. This will be sent via the email provided on registration.

Other unspecified website plugins.

The website uses a number of other components to enhance the functionality and usability of our website. These so not process data, record data or pass information to third parties.

Your right to be forgotten.

You have the right to object to us processing your personal information if we are not entitled to use it any more, to have your information deleted if we are keeping it too long or have its processing restricted in certain circumstances. If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us via the menu above. Please be aware though that exercising this right may limit access to the Membership and Quality areas of The Dyslexia Outreach Service website.
